Though uses for this term can vary, it is generally accepted that a deposit is an accidental addition to an object that was not original to it or intended by its creator. Deposits can often be dried liquids, though some use this term (and the related term deposition) to refer to the settling of dry particles which collect on a surface.&lt;br /&gt;
