Linking guidance
These guidelines are suggested by WikiProject Video games.
- While the Internet Archive has an exemption from the DMCA for software archiving, avoid linking to games outside the curated collections unless you are reasonably sure they aren't associated with piracy; look for a warez group's name in filename, or crack intro at startup
- Only link to one platform per game article; there is no need to link to an arcade version and MS-DOS version of the same game
- If an article is about multiple games, include a link for each one if possible
- For games released on multiple platforms, generally prefer:
- platforms on which the game was originally released
- platforms for which the game was best known
- platforms generally considered to have the best port of the game
