We hope this will be a resource for research about the ephemeral film genre - a wide definition of films that were made for a specific time, place and/or audience. This genre includes educational, industrial, sponsored, non-theatrical shorts, home movies, lab research, etc. It doesn't include feature films or television programs - although snipes, promotional shorts, TV advertising, etc. could be welcome.

Currently, we will be listing the titles held by the A/V Geeks 16mm Archive (www.avgeeks.com) but hope to expand holdings by other archives and collectors and list films that nobody has.

Welcome to the Ephemeral Film Wiki

We hope this will be a resource for research about the ephemeral film genre - a wide definition of films that were made for a specific time, place and/or audience. This genre includes educational, industrial, sponsored, non-theatrical shorts, lab research, etc. It doesn't include feature films or television programs - although snipes, promotional shorts, TV advertising, etc. could be welcome.

Currently, we will be listing the titles held by the A/V Geeks 16mm Archive ( www.avgeeks.com ) but hope to expand holdings by other archives and collectors and list films that nobody has.
