Bacteria Friend and Foe is a short film from 1953 released on 16mm. It is held in the Prelinger Archives collection.

Some lab shots, some microcinematography, some reenactments of Pasteur peering into his microscope. Shows the importance of bacteria in our everyday life. Animated drawings and live action scenes show bacterial growth and reproduction, and ways in which bacteria may be grouped for systematic study. Contributions of Leeuwenhoek, Pasteur and Koch are noted.
