Design for Living is a short film from 1965 released on 16mm. It is held in the Prelinger Archives collection.

Presents principles of good design as they relate to furnishings and objects common to the home. Uses furniture, utensils, glassware, china, pictures and other decorations, and rooms themselves to illustrate the following criteria of good design: function, economy of material, elegance of design, honesty of material, and ease of maintenance. Comparative viewing of old and new furnishings dramatizes changes in design which occur as technology develops. Includes glimpses of furniture designed by Eero Saarinen, Harry Bertoia, Florence Knoll, Charles Eames, Mies van der Rohe, and Charles Pollack. Uses function, economy of material, elegance of design, honesty of material and ease of maintenance as criteria in analyzing examples of furniture, utensils, glassware, China and rooms themselves.
