Man shaving himself in bathroom mirror. Applies lather with brush. Wife nags him from other room. 20:17:31 Wife enters in silver lame housedress and man's fedora hat. They laugh. 20:18:24 CU hands writing note on small card with a pen 20:18:41 Man walking down street passes movie theater, then stops in tobacco shop and buys cigarettes. Salesman tries to sell him a pipe. 20:21:16 Man goes into hat store and is ignored by salesmen conversing with each other. Eventually, an attentive salesman sells him a hat. 20:25:10 Man enters hardware store and buys a hammer. 20:28:0-4 Man crossing street is almost hit by a car. City traffic. 20:28:31 Two men go into store to buy a pair of shoes and have a fight with a salesman over shoe sizes. One man hands the salesman a mirror which reflects his face. Appalled expression. 20:31:14 Man walking down city street collides with man carrying a sandwich board which reads "how long have you been married?" Buy your wife an anniversary gift at...." 20:31:41 Furniture showroom. Man tries out and buys an armchair. They examine several chairs. Man sits in chair and looks at himself in mirror in wall. Sees 'vision' of his wife knitting in an armchair. 20:36:54 Man at office converses with boss or co-worker. Smokes pipe. 20:43:00 Man holds small mirror in palm of his hand so that it reflects his face.
