General Motors News Parade is a short film from 1944 released on 35mm. It is held in the Prelinger Archives collection.

Reel 1:

Title card: "2500th Wildcat -- Eastern Production Milestone Marked by Christening Party, Linden, New Jersey. September 1942" The Wildcat was a U.S. Navy aircraft. Painted backdrop showing wildcat in a cage; a model of the Wildcat airplane bursts through the backdrop and unfolds its wings. Shot of people pushing plane MS workers looking at plane flying low, shading their eyes from the sun (good shot of group of people all looking in one direction at something) VS air-to-air shots, many Wildcat airplanes flying 2 shots of Wildcats landing on aircraft carrier Official christening ceremony in Linden, New Jersey plant (sound on this sequence is fake, dubbed in later) VS spectators Master of ceremonies: George Ball, assistant manager of Linden plant; Ball introduces P.E. Baugh, Linden plant manager, at podium Rear Admiral C.A. Clifford salutes workers Actress and singer Mary Martin, at podium, salutes workers; she christens the plane with a large bottle of champagne. There is much joking and taking of aim, then she swings hard (good christening shot) VS Mary Martin on stage; she receives huge bouquet of flowers and throws flowers one by one at crowd of workers, accompanied by cheers from the crowd

Title card: "G.M. Dealer Wins Coveted 'E' Award. Indianapolis." The owner of this car dealership turned it into a machine shop (a small defense contractor) during the war when there were no automobiles available to sell. High-angle shot looking up at Monarch Buick automobile dealership sign LS from street of Buick dealership building VS William R. Pratt, owner, with machinists in machine shop VS machinists, including women workers ("Rosie the Riveters") VS audience at "E" ceremony. Lt. Col. G.M. Enes unfurls the "E" banner, assisted by Lt. Cmdr. R.W. McGregor, U.S. Navy The Governor of Indiana is present Pvt.
