Maintenance of Roads is a short film from ca. late 1920s released on 16mm. It is held in the Prelinger Archives collection.

Boy lies down on mother's lap while she sews up a tear in his pants.

08:15:24:15 Woman sits on coach sewing. Boy in with old-fashioned 1930s pants tucked into his socks enters frame, shows his mother the hole in his pants, lies stomach first on her lap, and the mother proceeds to sew the boys pants. Scene followed by intertitle:

The proverbial  stitch in time  applies with equal force to the maintenance of roads.
