UN General Assembly meets at Flushing Meadows Park, Queens NY, w/ Eleanor Roosevelt; new United Nations Building is readied for opening; UN opens a Second Front in Korea (Korean War combat footage, including soldiers landing on shore from ship landing craft, and General Douglas MacArthur); profile of the island of Formosa (also Chiang Kai-Shek and Mao Tse-tung); Jerusalem storehouse of ancient religious documents (including words of prophet Mohammed); cows milked at an "automated dairy" (California); kids making sculptures from cored apples; air gliding in Switzerland; new airplane: the Fairchild XC-120 Pack Plane; 10 Engine B-36 airplane; SPORTS: Fanny Blankers-Koen (star of track and field, "the fleetest woman in the world") wins at the 1950 Olympics.
