VS a ceremonial procession of Christian pilgrims carrying a statue of the Madonna-and-Child up the slope of Montserrat mountain; rock climbers carry the statue all the way to peak of a steep rock at the mountaintop.

ranger leads a tour group through the beautiful Lehman Caves National Monument in Nevada, filled with ornate stalactites, stalagmites and limestone rock outcroppings; park ranger playfully taps certain rocks to produce musical notes.

Branch at 5th Avenue and 42nd Street, including the lion statues; INT the entrance hall; INT a reading room; CU pages of a Beethoven manuscript; CU New York Times newspaper headline reporting the assassination of President Lincoln; CU a magnifying glass is held up to a page of a rare Gutenberg Bible; VS the card catalog room, man fills out a call slip and hands it to clerk; call slip is sent by pneumatic tube to the library stacks where a clerk searches for the book and sends it upstairs in small elevator; VS main reading room, people reading at the long tables, man picking up a book at the delivery desk beneath the call-number indicator sign; more EXT shots of the library, pedestrians pass inFG.
