Relax is a short film from 1937 released on 35mm. It is held in the Prelinger Archives collection.

This film tests how "disturbing features" such as "an uncomfortable position, bad lighting, uncontrolled ventilation, and noise" affect a person's concentration, efficiency, and ability to relax. It displays several uncomfortable people in different situations -- beginning by showing the displeasure experienced by a gentleman, forced onto a windy porch to read his newspaper while a wild birthday party rages inside the house. A series of scientific experiments, designed by Dr. Donald A. Laird are used to test a person's ability to relax under adverse conditions. These lab tests include a seismographic plotter linked to a tossing sleeper, tests on airflow around the skin of a man placed in a large white box, and a woman hooked up to a respirator experiencing ear-blasting noise while she types. The Chevrolet automobile, however, is able to control these environmental influences, allowing its passengers to be comfortable and relaxed.
