Time Out for Trouble is a short film from 1961 released on 16mm. It is held in the Prelinger Archives collection.

Illustrates the most common accidents causing serious injury in the home and explains that mental attitudes are the real cause of the trouble. Suggests a course of action to eliminate such injuries.

Blurry ghostlike face appears over the face of the clock. Audio track plays grating music intensifying the frightening scene. Eyes of the apparition superimposed over the face of the clock rapidly look right and left. Ghost speaks: 'this time that hussy Jane's gone too far�.me a treasured heirloom, a present from her husband's own mother. Well, she�ll live to regret it. Time takes care of so many things, especially when you are a specialist in time like I am. But Jane will never suspect, she just won't understand why she's having so much trouble, because its all going to be completely accidental [ghost gives creepy laugh]�

  • �But it's alive, talking to me, taunting to me, it hates me, that's why I had this accident. It says I�ll keep on having them.�
  • �Must be those pills the doctor's gave you. You�re just imagining things.�
  • �No Mel, that clock talks, it did, it did.�

03:16:10 :03 CU hand dialing phone on rotary dial. MS woman on phone. �Hi Madge. This is Jane. Say why don't you come over and have a cup of coffee with me. I have been cleaning this house all day and I am just about to go out of my mind. OK, say bring that new�� Woman hangs up phone, looking exhausted she leans against the wall and rubs her forehead.

03:16:51:00 CU clock with ghost face saying �Why I don't believe it. Don't tell that girl's beginning to use her head. Well, I�ll get her yet.�

So now there will be another clock here taking my place"
