Industry on Parade was a short television program that aired in the U.S. from 1950-1960. It was produced by the National Association of Manufacturers. The series demonstrated complicated industrial processes that transformed raw materials into finished products.

The Need for Nickel! Mining nickel. International Nickel Co., Sudbury Basin, Ontario.

Pointers on Pencils! Manufacturing pencils. Eagle Pencil Co.

Hoisting the Big Ones! Manufacturing hoisting and lifting machines. Industrial Brownhoist Corp., Bay City, MI.

Golden Twilight! Four retired men. General Petroleum Co., Southern CA.

Pointers on Pencils

The Eagle Pencil Company started out as a pencil shop- and a factory in Yonkers- in 1856 (in time, a factory at 724 East 14th Street in New York was added). In 1969, the company became Berol Corporation. Empire Pencil Corporation, based in Tennessee, bought them out in 1986. In turn, they were acquired by Sanford/Newell Brands in 1995. The "Berol" brand name still exists. but its products are mostly produced in other countries. The Eagle factory disappeared a long time ago.
